With her family unable to raise the money for Emouree’s mother’s headstone, the seven-year-old girl showed initiative and raised $10,000 in just one month with a lemonade stand.
In March, Emouree’s mother Karli died at the age of 29. But there was no money for a gravestone. Since then, the girl has been selling lemonade for a dollar a glass to help her family finances.
The seven-year-old from Scottsboro, Alabama, does this with great success. Emouree raised $10,000 for her mother’s gravestone in one month, thanks to the help of her neighbors.
Tombstone was eventually donated
Family, friends and neighbors shared Emouree’s commitment, her sad story went viral and many people helped the girl with small donations. But the greatest joy was that the tombstone was donated unexpectedly!
Emouree gets to keep the money she earns; this is intended to finance her school and studies. Her grandmother is very proud of the girl: “I know her mother looks down on her and is happy.”
