A young Dutchman was seriously injured in a crash in Sölden in the Tyrolean Ötztal on Thursday evening. The 19-year-old climbed over a rock wall unsecured and eventually fell from a height of seven meters.
According to the police, the accident took place around 8 p.m. in the municipality of Sölden. The 19-year-old Dutchman climbed on a rock wall without safety to a wooden platform. The young man suddenly lost his balance on this platform.
Serious head injury
“He then fell approximately seven meters and landed on the asphalt ground below,” investigators said. The Dutchman suffered serious head injuries, among other things.
After initial treatment on site, he was flown to the university clinic in Innsbruck with the emergency medical helicopter “Alpin 2”.
