Blue lights, horn and headlight flash could not stop a 24-year-old motorcyclist from Linz on Friday evening. He gave chase to police in the capital until he was eventually overtaken and stopped.
At 7:30 p.m. on June 3, police officers noticed a scooter in which two people were sitting on Khevenhüllerstrasse in Linz. When the radio car was turned to stop the scooter, the driver noticed and gave the vehicle a lot of throttle. He clearly wanted to evade control. He tried to flee at considerably too high speed via Europalplatz, Goethestraße, Darrgutstraße and Hospital Street. During the breakout, all stop signs were ignored using blue flashing lights, a tracking horn and headlamp strobe, two yellow traffic lights and all traffic rules.
Driver does not have a driver’s license
In the hospital street, the scooter was overtaken by the crew of the radio vehicle and brought to a halt by deliberate braking. At the subsequent check, the driver, a 24-year-old from Linz, was unable to show a driver’s license because he does not have a driver’s license. A pre-alcohol test performed resulted in a value of 0.5 per mille. He then refused to take an alcohol test. The onward journey was prohibited and the car key was taken. Follow ads.
