Two men in England have been sentenced to lengthy prison terms after they were caught trying to ship large quantities of cocaine as cheese shipments from Belgium to Britain.
The drug investigators’ attack took place last May, shortly after one of the two men took a car from one of his dealers and drove it to the gang’s warehouse. The officers found cocaine worth around 20 million euros – packed in garbage bags or in several wheels from Gouda. Police were also able to seize large amounts of cash from the apartment of the 46-year-old gang member.
“Biggest drug discovery in Lancashire”
Months later, further investigation discovered another distributor. Lancashire Police are calling it the “largest drug bust in the county’s history”.
Now the 46-year-old and his 28-year-old accomplice have been sentenced to 27.5 and 16 years in prison respectively. “I welcome the verdicts and I hope they send a clear message about what happens to anyone selling drugs in Lancashire,” Detective Inspector Haydn Sibley told Sky News.
