The fact is: the country’s fire brigades are indispensable. Without them the entire system wouldn’t function at all. The figures prove this in black and white: the Tyrolean State Fire Brigade Association (LFV) consists of a total of 337 volunteer fire brigades, 20 company fire brigades and one professional fire brigade. With more than 32,000 members, the LFV Tirol is the largest emergency organization in the state of Tyrol.
It is therefore clear to the “Kronen Zeitung” that it supports the fire brigade and is the exclusive print media partner of the 60th State Fire Brigade Competition, the largest fire brigade festival in Tyrol this year. This will take place on June 7 and 8 in Zell am Ziller.
Athletic competition with numerous tasks
About 3,000 firefighters will transform the market town into Tyrol’s firefighting hotspot. What exactly does the competition look like? It is a sporting competition where everything revolves around setting up a fire extinguisher. It involves laying the suction line, putting the pump in place and leading to the completed extinguishing action. Another event is the 400-meter relay. If the competition is successfully completed, the fire brigade badge in bronze or silver will be awarded. The highlight is the Firecup, in which the best groups from the previous year compete against each other in the knockout competition.

Exciting: Every fire brigade from German-speaking countries can register for the 60th state fire brigade performance competition until April 26 via the fire management system FDIS Tirol or the LFV Tirol.

It is both a special honor and a challenge for us to organize this competition,” emphasizes Commander Alexander Stock. “Preparations have been going on for more than two years”
However, Stefan Rohrmoser of the organizing team reveals: “With an organizing team of fifteen people, preparations have been going on for more than two years. Putting together such a large event involves countless tasks and steps – in addition to planning the structure, this also applies to marketing and press work. Tent festival with live bands, disco tent with DJ
In addition to the competition, the organizers also organize a large tent festival with a varied festival program – including three live bands and a DJ. On Friday, Lätz Fetz will create a sensational atmosphere in the big tent. However, Volksbeat and Volxrock are going strong on Saturday – also in the tent. There is also a disco tent where DJ Instyle will keep visitors warm until the early hours on both days.
This weekend is an absolute must, not only for firefighters, but also for interested parties and party animals. The motto is: definitely come visit!
