First appearance of ex-TV star Florian Teichtmeister after his criminal conviction on September 5, 2023. The former castle actor took his seat in the labor and social court on Monday at 9 a.m. Dressed in a black suit and represented by lawyer Manfred Arbacher-Stöger, he is this time confronted with a lawsuit from the Burgtheater. His former employer is now suing the actor for almost 100,000 euros.
‘Why didn’t you do anything? Suspended or preparing an understudy? Why did you have such blinders on?” Arbacher asks why Haus am Ring did not respond after the allegations became known. “Maybe there was naivete. He told us that he would sue his then partner,” the Burgtheater representative argues.
“I was hoping for a distraction”
The ex-mime is slimmer than at his court hearing in Landl. He comes across clear and focused. At the beginning he indicates that he is currently looking for work. “I was hoping for a distraction,” says Teichtmeister when asked why he did not clear the air much earlier in a conversation with his former employer.
“I explained that three of the four accusations are false. There were institutions for that too. As for the fourth accusation (note: child pornography files), I could not assess the actual extent at the time.” He said he was cooperating with police in this regard.
Canceled performances and legal costs
The claimed damage amount of 94,949 euros is due to canceled performances, reprinted programs and legal costs.
Images of abuse of minors
During a search in August 2021, numerous images depicting the abuse of minors, some of which were accompanied by gruesomely sadistic texts, were seized from Teichtmeister. The 45-year-old was sentenced to two years in prison for pornographic images of minors.
Strict requirements
At his conviction, Teichtmeister was given strict conditions for his suspended prison sentence. This includes forensic psychotherapy, psychological treatment, rehabilitation assistance and confirmation of abstinence from alcohol and drugs.
