British Prime Minister, Boris Johnson, has overcome internal censorship motion filed by his own party’s deputies and will therefore continue to lead the British government and the Conservative Party.

However, the chief executive, punished for the scandal of the parties he held during the incarceration due to the Covid-19 pandemic in Downing Street, has suffered a serious setback when he saw how 148 Tory MPs out of a total of 359, they voted to withdraw their trust.

More than 40% of the Conservative group voted against their own Prime Minister, a sentence that was more severe than that of her predecessor, Theresa Mayin 2018, that survived a vote of no confidence to resign a few months later under party pressure.

The head of government’s closest allies tried to qualify the defeat after seeing the results. “This is a democratic party. The prime minister has won. Let’s draw a line and focus on the work,” the education minister told the media. nadhim zahawi

“Satisfied that colleagues have supported the Prime Minister. I support him 100%,” said the Foreign Minister, Liz Trussconsidered one of the top contenders to succeed Johnson if he eventually falls.

Among the critics of the conservative leader, the deputy, Roger Gale has put forward that they will continue to oppose Johnson as leader of the formation, despite his victory in the censure vote.

“I think an honest prime minister would look at the numbers, accept the fact that he has lost the support of a significant part of his party and think about his future. But I don’t think he will.”
