The police have released new details about the murder of the 19-year-old funeral director from Regensburg: Traces of blood were found in the apartment of the 55-year-old suspect. The man, a colleague and ex-boyfriend of the murdered Marie, is already in custody and denies the crime.
The young woman’s body was discovered on Saturday in a trunk in a parking garage. The vehicle was registered to her parents. Eyewitnesses noticed the car through a broken side window and raised the alarm.
Crimes of jealousy suspected
Cell phone records eventually led investigators to the victim’s ex-boyfriend. Police believe the 55-year-old may have killed the young woman; possibly it was a crime of jealousy. The suspect’s home was then investigated. Now there has apparently been a breakthrough in research:“There are traces of blood in his house,” a spokesperson for the Public Prosecution Service said on Tuesday.
When questioned, the suspect stated that he had nothing to do with the crime. Marie left his house alive and drove away in the car after her visit.
