An attempted robbery took place at a gas station in Völs near Innsbruck on Saturday. The two armed perpetrators fled without taking anything. An immediate search turned up nothing.
According to the police’s initial report, the crime took place around 4:15 am. The Jet gas station on the site of the Cyta shopping center was hit.
Employee threatened when opening the door
When the employee tried to open the gas station, initial reports indicate that two armed and masked perpetrators suddenly marched forward and apparently demanded cash. It remained an attempted robbery.
Escaped in a car with no loot
The perpetrators ultimately escaped without any loot. According to investigators, they fled in a car. An immediately initiated alarm search – including on the nearby highway entrances and exits – was unsuccessful.
Police were still on site early Saturday morning. Tracks were secured. Further details are not yet known.
