An aerial bomb was discovered in Strasshof ad Nordbahn (Lower Austria) on Tuesday afternoon. A total of 200 households had to be evacuated to defuse the situation.
The local fire brigade said the location was near the Amundsen-Strasse Protestant Church. Emergency services, including the police, are currently busy warning the population in the market town and carrying out all necessary evacuations.
Collection point set up
The call went out to residents in the vicinity of the Protestant church and within a radius of about 300 meters, “if they have the opportunity to leave their apartment/home independently, to do so.” According to a Facebook post, the Meeting House in Strasshof has been set up as a meeting point. It was also pointed out that there was no danger. Defusing the bomb should only begin “when the area has been completely evacuated.”
