Violent argument – man threatened with knife in refugee accommodation

Several men became involved in a heated argument in a refugee shelter in Feldkirch on Sunday afternoon. A 33-year-old pulled out a kitchen knife and threatened a 21-year-old resident with it.

The 33-year-old, who lives in Dornbirn, drove to the refugee accommodation in Feldkirch on Saturday with four acquaintances between the ages of 21 and 32. According to police, the five men got into an argument with the 21-year-old resident.

The 33-year-old allegedly punctuated his words with a kitchen knife and threatened the younger man. Concerned about the violent altercation, other residents of the building alerted the police.

Visitors disappeared immediately
The five fled before the police arrived. The 33-year-old attacker did not take the police sniffer dogs into account. A four-legged friend found the man near the refugee accommodation. He no longer had the knife with him.

No one was injured in the incident. Feldkirch police are investigating the 33-year-old on suspicion of serious coercion.
