A 45-year-old Turk raped three women in Vorarlberg. Because, according to a psychological report, he was not of sound mind at the time of the crimes, he is now being sent to an institution.
Ten previous convictions, including one for rape in 2004. On Wednesday, the 45-year-old Turk appeared again before the jury of the Feldkirch regional court. Once again, three cases involved sexual assault and rape.
In November 2022, the first victim was sexually assaulted in his home. The man keeps trying to kiss the woman. When she defends herself, he grabs her jaw and reaches between her legs. The victim escapes with abrasions to his chin.
Brutal rape in the zoo
In June last year he broke into a woman’s home in Frastanz and attacked her. He tears the victim’s pants down again. The woman desperately defends herself against the tall man and begs him not to harm her. But her tormentor shows no mercy and brutally rapes her. He manages to escape again.
Two months later he dragged another woman into the bushes of Feldkirch zoo, strangled her and punched her in the face several times before raping the victim, who was covered in blood.
Paranoid hallucinogenic schizophrenia
When the chairman confronts the suspect with the photos of the abused victims, he pleads, “Can you please get rid of them?” The violent perpetrator denies the allegations made against him. No rape ever occurred, nor did he harm the women in that way. For example, when the judge asked how he could explain the victim’s serious injuries in the wildlife park, he replied: “Maybe she lost something there and was looking for it. Maybe she wanted to get pregnant too.’
After a brief consultation, the jury followed the statements of forensic psychiatrist Reinhard Haller and ordered the person concerned to be admitted to a forensic-therapeutic institution. According to Haller, the intellectually inferior violent perpetrator suffers from paranoid hallucinogenic schizophrenia. Due to his medical condition, the rapist was not healthy when he committed his crimes.
Because further acts with serious consequences are expected, the transfer to a forensic psychiatric institution is now a decision. Which the person concerned does not seem to accept due to his interjections. Why Judge Sandholzer joins him in the parade: “You still don’t seem to have understood what you did to the women. This will cast a shadow on their souls forever.”
