Last Tuesday, a pensioner from Flachgau withdrew almost 10,000 euros from a bank in the city of Salzburg. She put the money in her handbag – which two criminals noticed. Now the perpetrators have been caught.
The 78-year-old boarded the bus not far from the bench and went one stop further. She got off the trolley and went to a supermarket. Suddenly, two strangers pulled the woman to the ground and robbed the pensioner of her handbag, along with the money she had just withdrawn. The woman was injured and the perpetrators were able to escape.
However, they did not remain free for long: after a public search and numerous tips from the public, the two men have now been tracked down. They are two Romanians (35 and 44 years old). They were arrested in the city of Salzburg.
Money and mobile phone secured
During a search of her home, a four-figure sum of money and the 78-year-old victim’s mobile phone were seized.
During their interrogation, the two suspects confessed.
