A moped ride ended tragically on Saturday for two boys aged 14 and 15. In Steinhaus (Upper Austria), the two collided with the car of a 58-year-old while turning, were thrown from the moped and were left seriously injured on the road.
The terrible accident happened on Saturday around 9:30 am in Steinhaus near Wels. The two young people from the Wels-Land district drove towards Eberstalzeller Straße, with the 15-year-old at the wheel and his friend, who was a year younger, on the passenger seat.
At the same time, a 58-year-old, also from Wels-Land, drove her car towards Thalheim near Wels. When the moped entered Eberstalzeller Straße, the two vehicles collided.
Crisis intervention team on site
The two teenagers were thrown from the moped and, according to the police, were left seriously injured on the road. The 15-year-old was taken to hospital in Wels. His 14-year-old friend was treated by the emergency doctor and then flown by helicopter to the accident hospital in Linz.
After the terrible accident, the crisis intervention team checked the uninjured driver of the car on the spot.
