As reported, four cars were set on fire and another was damaged on Anastasius-Grün-Straße in Linz on Tuesday evening. Now a fire expert has determined: it was no coincidence. The police continue to intensively search for the possible perpetrator(s).
The police report mentions an “external ignition source” that set four vehicles on fire. Unfortunately, no one has been able to confirm what exactly it was yet. However, it is certain that the fires were not caused by a technical defect.
This was previously assumed, as the middle of the five cars remained largely undamaged, while the front and rear two vehicles were completely destroyed.
Set on fire indiscriminately
During the crime, vehicles belonging to various license plate holders were randomly set on fire by the aforementioned unspecified external ignition source. According to the expert, two vehicles were completely burned out and three other cars were damaged to varying degrees by the fires. The investigations are still ongoing.
