This brave act by a Florida restaurant manager saved an 11-year-old boy from death at the hands of his brutal stepfather. Flavane Carvalho had in the Mrs. Potato Restaurant in Orlando, Florida, USA worked and assisted as a waitress. She noticed that a guest ordered for himself and his wife, but not for his son. When asked about it, 36-year-old Timothy Lee Wilson snapped, “My son eats at home later!”
Pale and malnourished
That made the woman suspicious: “When I got to the table, I saw that the boy had injuries to his forehead, bruises and bruises. He was pale and clearly malnourished.” Suspecting bad things, the mother of two managed to distract the parents and secretly handed the 11-year-old a note that read, “Do you need help?” scribbled a note, Carvalho called the police.
Investigators found that Wilson had abused the stepson and his younger sister for years. “The boy probably wouldn’t have survived the ordeal much longer,” the prosecutor suspected. The stepfather has since been found guilty of serious child abuse. He faces up to 30 years in prison. The mother is still on trial.
