Officials from the Imst highway police were probably wide-eyed on Sunday evening when they tried to stop a speeder on the Inntal highway in Haiming. The driver (60) drove at more than 100 km/h over the speed limit of 80 and ignored police signals. When they stopped the speeder, they must have been surprised.
The 60-year-old drove 104 instead of the permitted 80 km/h on a construction site in Haiming on the Inntalautobahn around 8 p.m. Officers from the Imst highway police wanted to stop the man. However, he ignored the stop signs and continued driving.
Asked about prosecution, proud blood alcohol level
The police officers gave chase and were eventually able to arrest the driver on Tiroler Straße in Stams. During the check, they discovered that the 60-year-old did not have a driver’s license. To make matters worse, an alcohol test also came back positive: the result was no less than 1.8 per mille. The man is reported.
