While mowing, a farmer in the German state of Lower Saxony made a terrible discovery: he found the body of a child. Although the identity has not yet been determined, it is possible that the deceased child was six-year-old Arian.
The remains were discovered in a meadow, German media report. Nothing is yet known about the location and how exactly the body was found. Only on Tuesday morning did the police announce that the identity had not yet been conclusively established.
German police had been looking for the six-year-old from Bremervörde for weeks after he apparently left his home of his own free will on April 22. The problem with the search was that the young autistic person did not respond when his name was called; the parents explained that he “probably wouldn’t let himself be noticed.”
The researchers and family members therefore took unusual routes to track down the boy. Balloons, sweets and water bottles were distributed in the area to attract the missing person. Attempts were also made to lure the boy out of his hiding place with loud music and fireworks, but all measures were unsuccessful.
