24-year-old Viennese Marc D. has been waiting for a small sign of hope for months. The only bright spot in his case – the Austrian is accused of child abuse and kidnapping of an alleged 15-year-old in the US state of Florida – is that he has now been transferred to another prison wing.
The young Viennese is now in a “broader wing”, a spokeswoman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said on Tuesday. It was said that the transfer was at his request.
Safe for now
Before his transfer, the local citizen was threatened by fellow prisoners, but now he is probably safe for the time being. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed to the “Krone” the “relocation” and also a detention visit by the local Consul General from Washington. Meanwhile, Carl-Christian Thier’s law firm is fighting for first access to the files of the extremely confusing case.
Above all, the amorous chats between Marc and his internet acquaintance will likely play a role, as reported. Whether and how they will be approved by the local court is still up in the air.
