Driver’s license lost – motorcyclist (22) overtakes emergency vehicle at 156 km/h

In a 70 zone, a 22-year-old in Wels raced past an ambulance on his motorbike at a speed of 156 km/h. The young speeder temporarily lost his driving licence, but was lucky that his bike was not confiscated either.

Normally, rescue vehicles overtake civilian vehicles, but in Wels on Monday it was the other way around: a 22-year-old from the trade fair city raced past an ambulance on his motorcycle at 156 km/h on a section of Eferdinger Straße, where a speed limit of 70 km/h applies.

Driving license revoked
The police stopped the motorcyclist for a driver and vehicle check and temporarily confiscated his driver’s license, it follows. The 22-year-old was lucky: the young man ‘missed’ the limit for accepting the motorcycle under the new speed law by only four km/h.
