Normally, rescue vehicles overtake civilian vehicles, but in Wels on Monday it was the other way around: a 22-year-old from the trade fair city raced past an ambulance on his motorcycle at 156 km/h on a section of Eferdinger Straße, where a speed limit of 70 km/h applies.
Driving license revoked
The police stopped the motorcyclist for a driver and vehicle check and temporarily confiscated his driver’s license, it follows. The 22-year-old was lucky: the young man ‘missed’ the limit for accepting the motorcycle under the new speed law by only four km/h.
