The terrible accident took place late in the evening of June 19. The 42-year-old resident wanted to cross Sellrainstrasse (L13) on foot near a gas station when he was hit by a young man’s car.
Pedestrians catapulted onto the street
The force of the impact threw the pedestrian first against the windshield and then several meters through the air before landing on the road and suffering serious injuries.
The seriously injured man was taken to the clinic in Innsbruck after initial treatment. There the native struggled with death. A battle he unfortunately lost. The 42-year-old died on Sunday, the police announced.
The 26-year-old driver was unharmed at the time. According to the police, he was slightly drunk at the time of the accident. There was material damage to the car.
