Since its launch in July 2019, Amazon Prime’s “The Boys” has thrilled audiences as a brilliantly crude superhero allegory about Donald Trump, the excesses of capitalism, political fanaticism, the new Nazis, and America’s (not-so-secret) fascist tendencies. The Emmy-nominated series is set in a universe where superheroes are both powerful and corrupt celebrities. Only a small group of upstanding individuals, the eponymous “The Boys,” centered around Billy Butcher (Karl Urban), stands against them.
