Without permission, a 17-year-old apprentice at a car dealership in Maishofen took a colleague’s car on Friday night and wanted to drive home. He caused an accident while drunk and fled. He doesn’t even have a driver’s license.
On his way home, the 17-year-old caused an accident with material damage and committed a hit-and-run. He then picked up his friends and lost control of the vehicle. The car drove over a dike and crashed into a fence. The vehicle was badly damaged as a result.
After the accident, all six occupants fled. However, some returned to remove the license plates from the car. Witnesses noticed this. However, when questioned by the police, the passengers denied their involvement in the accident. They also did not want to know the driver.

Nothing helped, but the driver could still be found. A breathalyzer test showed a blood alcohol level of 1.72 and the young man does not have a driver’s license.
In addition to several administrative complaints against the young people involved, the learner driver is reported to the Salzburg Public Prosecutor’s Office for, among other things, unauthorized use of vehicles.
