According to the four main surveys published after the polls closed, the Macronists would come second and Le Pen’s National Forum would be relegated to third place.
The first polls published after the polls closed in the second round of the French legislative elections predict a victory for the left-wing coalition of the New Popular Front (NFP). The Macronists would be in second place, with Marine Le Pen’s National Rally relegated to third place.
According to data from the Ifop research center, the left-wing coalition would win between 180 and 215 seats in the National Assembly. The Macronist bloc would get between 150 and 180 seats. Finally, the far-right members of the National Rally would be far from an absolute majority and would win between 115 and 152 seats.
Ipsos projections are similar, with 172-192 delegates for the NFP, compared to 150-170 for the Macronists and 132-152 for Marine Le Pen’s far-right National Rally (RN).
Elabe’s for BFMTV give the left 175-205 deputies, 150-170 for the Macronist bloc and 115-150 for the RN.
Finally, the Opinionway poll gives the NFP 160 to 210 seats, with the Macronists also in second place (160-180), and the far right in third place with 130-160.
These results represent a turnaround from the first round, in which the National Group was the most voted party with more than 33% support.
The National Assembly has 577 seats, so the absolute majority is 289.
