Dramatic scenes took place on the B60 between Weigelsdorf and Pottendorf on Tuesday afternoon. They cost the lives of two men who crashed a car into a truck.
For reasons still unknown, a fatal head-on collision between a truck and a car occurred on the B60 between Weigelsdorf and Pottendorf on the afternoon of July 9. Two men were driving a car when they collided with the heavy car.
Men died at the scene of the accident
Both men in the car were rescued from the vehicle by fire and rescue workers, according to an initial report. They were unconscious and had to be resuscitated by paramedics and emergency physicians. Unfortunately, the attempts were unsuccessful. The driver of the car and his passenger died immediately at the scene of the accident. The truck driver was unharmed in the crash.
Sonja Kellner of the Lower Austrian Red Cross confirmed the tragic accident. No information could yet be given about the exact course of events and the identity of the victims. The fire brigade, the Workers’ Samaritan Association, the Red Cross and two medical emergency helicopters were in action. The B60 was temporarily closed at the scene of the accident
