The caravan of a Swiss man who was traveling with his car and the attached vehicle in neighboring Switzerland on Monday morning was destroyed by flames. Between Neuhaus and Ricken (canton St. Gallen), the 47-year-old suddenly saw smoke rising from the inside of the caravan.
The driver immediately stopped at a bus stop and ran to the trailer. The first flames already hit him there. He managed to disconnect the car from the mobile home before it completely caught fire.
The cause of the fire is being investigated
Shortly afterwards, the arriving fire brigade managed to quickly bring the fire under control. No one was injured during the operation. However, the caravan could not be saved. There was a damage of approximately 60,000 Swiss francs. The St. Gallen Forensic Competence Center was commissioned by the Public Prosecutor’s Office to investigate the cause of the fire.
