Initially, an 84-year-old thought she had escaped unscathed. But a few hours after the bicycle accident, the pain became so unbearable that she was taken to hospital by ambulance, where a broken femur was diagnosed. Police are now asking for the other people involved in the accident to come forward.
She wanted to cross the Danube via the Abwinden/Asten power plant (Upper Austria) when the fatal collision occurred. The 84-year-old cyclist from St. Georgen an der Gusen was on his way to Kronstorf on Tuesday afternoon when, after the barrier of the power plant, an oncoming cyclist suddenly turned around and the two collided.
No pain at first
The elderly cyclist initially felt no pain and informed the other party of the accident, who then cycled away. The 84-year-old went back to St. Georgen on his own, where the first pains became noticeable.
Only go to the hospital in the evening
In the evening they were so bad that she could not stand up anymore. So she called an ambulance and was taken to a hospital, where the diagnosis was made: a fractured femoral neck!
Please report!
Since the two had not exchanged information at the scene of the accident, the Mauthausen police station asked the unknown cyclist to contact the following telephone number:
