A cyclist in Kritzendorf in the Tulln district (Lower Austria) had a stroke of luck on Thursday morning. In a collision with a train, the woman was ‘only’ hit by the train carriage.
“Rescuing people at the local border – collision between cyclist and train” – the Florianis of the volunteer fire brigades Kritzendorf and Höflein feared the worst when the alarm was raised. But the woman probably had several guardian angels.
She was just able to jump off her e-bike in time and was only passed by the oncoming train.
Nevertheless, the cyclist suffered injuries and received first aid on the spot from a Red Cross team from Klosterneuburg.
To the hospital by helicopter
The rescue helicopter was also called in to help transport the injured. The woman was flown to a hospital for examination.
