A 17-year-old may have been speeding in Upper Austria on Saturday night. The new driver lost control of the steering wheel at a roundabout in Gschwandt and ended up in a ditch with his convertible.
The 17-year-old Trauner and his 19-year-old passenger were traveling on the Scharnsteinerstrasse from Gmunden to Gschwandt on Saturday around 9:15 p.m. According to the police, the probationary driver’s license holder drove too fast onto the Baumgarten roundabout and lost control of his vehicle.
Crane lifted the car back onto the road
He drove his convertible off the road, knocked over a street lamp and fell over an embankment into a ditch. The Gmunden fire department had to use a crane to recover the vehicle, which was a total loss.
Two injured
During the recovery operation, the roundabout was closed for about an hour and a half. Both occupants of the vehicle were taken to Vöcklabruck Hospital with minor injuries.
