In Heidelberg, an 18-year-old confessed to stabbing his ex-girlfriend, who was the same age, at the school they shared. “He admitted the crime from an objective point of view,” a court spokeswoman confirmed. The murder took place on January 25 in St. Leon-Rot near Heidelberg (Baden-Württemberg).
According to the Public Prosecution Service, the student allegedly stabbed the high school student multiple times with a meat cleaver, including in the neck and heart area. The student died immediately on the spot (see video above). The suspect then fled in a car and caused a serious accident in Seesen, Lower Saxony. Both he and another man were injured.
The 18-year-old has been in custody ever since. He is accused of murder and, as a result of the accident, of grievous bodily harm. The trial is taking place entirely behind closed doors.
Verdict expected in August
The reason is an assault from November 2023, which is also part of the indictment. The then 17-year-old is said to have injured his future victim with punches. The verdict is expected on August 15. The student has already admitted the murder at the court in Heidelberg.
