Serious industrial accident on a construction site in Tyrol on Wednesday afternoon! A 53-year-old Bosnian man was hit in the head by a piece of scarf and briefly lost consciousness. He was taken to hospital.
Shortly after 1:30 p.m., the serious accident occurred on a construction site in Wörgl (Kufstein district). The 53-year-old man from Bosnia and Herzegovina was a worker at a construction company and was doing formwork on the construction site. “Together with two other jobs, the man wanted to receive a formwork element on the second floor of the construction site, which would be transported there with the construction crane,” the police said.
Recovered by the fire brigade
When the formwork element was lowered, it hit the worker in the head for an unknown reason. Fortunately, the man was wearing a helmet. “He was able to grab the formwork element himself and loosen it from the crane before sitting down and briefly lost consciousness,” the investigators said. The employees present immediately provided first aid and started the rescue chain. The injured person was rescued by the Wörgl volunteer fire brigade using a turntable ladder and taken to the hospital in Kufstein by the rescue team.
