Sad news from the Tyrolean lowlands: An 84-year-old resident who had a serious fall on his e-bike in Brixen im Thale (Kitzbühel district) about a month ago has now succumbed to his injuries in hospital.
The fatal accident occurred on June 21. Shortly before noon, the pensioner was riding his city e-bike from the village center towards Westendorf when he lost his shield hood due to the wind and his bike braked abruptly.
“This caused the e-bike to tip over, the 84-year-old fell forward over the handlebars and fell to the ground. “He suffered serious head injuries from the impact,” the police said at the time.
Injuries too serious
Witnesses immediately raised the alarm and provided first aid. After initial treatment, the senior was flown by emergency helicopter to the hospital in St. Johann in Tirol. On Thursday, the police reported that the man died from his serious injuries.
