She was under the influence of medication and slightly drunk: in this condition a 43-year-old fled urgently from the police in southern Styria on Thursday. Twelve patrols were deployed and the danger was considerable.
The 43-year-old from southeastern Styria went to a doctor’s office on Thursday afternoon before fleeing in her car. Because it could be assumed that she posed a danger to herself and others, several police patrols started the search.
The woman was eventually spotted in Wagna (Leibnitz district). However, she ignored several attempts by the police to stop her and fled. The 43-year-old sometimes raced head-on into roadblocks; collisions could only be avoided by evasive maneuvers.
Patrol car slightly damaged
The escape took her for miles via Landscha (B67), Wagendorf (L208) and Schwarzautalstrasse (L624) to Labuttendorf – at speeds of up to 150 km/h and with daring manoeuvres. After about 30 minutes, the police managed to stop the woman at an abandoned petrol station, but in doing so she hit a patrol car, which was slightly damaged.
The woman eventually allowed herself to be arrested without resistance. She was immediately taken to a hospital. Fortunately, no one was injured during the frenzied chase.
Looking for witnesses
The police are now looking for witnesses to the trip or people who were affected by the daring evasive manoeuvres.
