At two o’clock in the morning, the sirens wailed in Pasching (Upper Austria): two fire brigades rushed to an apartment building where a fire was raging in a ground-floor apartment. A neighbor was able to wake the tenant in time and he was taken to hospital with injuries.
‘Building fire’ was the call that got fifty firefighters out of bed on Friday night. A fire broke out in an apartment on the ground floor of an apartment building in Pasching, probably caused by a burning cigarette.
Neighbor helped
A neighbour noticed the fire, was able to wake up the tenant of the burning apartment in time and gave him first aid at the door. Two other tenants were able to get to safety in time.
Investigations are underway
Members of two fire departments quickly brought the fire, which reportedly started in the bedroom, under control. Numerous items from the room were brought outside and extinguished there; fire investigators are tasked with clarifying the exact cause.
