Olympics in sight – Drunk Russian turns spy

Date:

Kirill Gryasnov actually wanted to use the Olympic Games in Paris to provoke provocations on behalf of the Russian secret service FSB. He exposed himself uncomfortably – by talking about his plans while completely drunk.

Life was generally not bad for the Russian. After all, Grjasnow is a lawyer by training, at home in the bustling metropolis of Moscow and made a name for himself as a TV chef. He also knows how to inspire people on talk shows, even though his reputation is not necessarily the best. He is known for scandals, insults and insults below the belt.

Alcohol was his downfall, however, as revealed by the independent media outlet ‘The Insider’ in an investigation. The beginning of the end was on May 7. Grjasnow was supposed to fly to Paris via the Turkish city of Istanbul – and failed. When he arrived in Turkey, he was refused further travel because of his extreme alcoholism and was blacklisted. He was forced to drive to Bulgaria.

The “secret mission”
Then came the next faux pas. He is said to have drunk far too much again and then, euphoric from the hospitality, willingly told strangers about his ‘secret mission’ in the French capital. “The Olympic Games will be remembered for a long time,” he threatened. He is said to have been extremely clumsy towards a member of the secret service when he was confronted with skeptical looks. He even shoved an accompanying identity card under people’s noses. As a result, excited Bulgarians contacted “The Insider”. A check even showed that he was a shady man, the platform reveals.

Grjasnov allegedly made no great secret of his past activities. In 2012, he wrote to a landlady in France: “I am fine, I am in Moscow and work for the state.” According to the analysis, the only thing that was officially known was that he was working as a chef at the time.

There is now a risk of up to 30 years in prison
The French authorities did not hesitate for long. On July 19, Grjasnov was arrested on suspicion of espionage and risked a prison sentence of up to 30 years. It is reported that documents and identity cards have been discovered on him that indicate that he is indeed working with the Russian secret services.

What exactly the Russian wanted to do in Paris has not yet been made public. It simply says that it was a “large-scale operation” that would have “seriously affected the three weeks of the Olympic Games.” According to “The Insider,” the fact that French intelligence services responded so quickly and with such seriousness indicates a serious danger. We will probably know more about it soon.
