Iran wants to ‘avoid war’ and ensure security, but retains its right to respond to Israel

For his part, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has again appeared to ensure that his state is prepared “for both defense and attack.”

“Within the framework of the treaties and international law, Iran will never remain silent in the face of violations against its interests and security,” he told Macron.

Pezeshkian has assured that the assassination in Tehran of Hamas political leader Ismail Haniye was “an attempt by the Zionist regime” to “fuel” the conflict in the region. “The United States and Western countries are supporting a regime that does not comply with any international laws and regulations and has not refrained from criminal actions in the region, with a contradictory approach,” he added.

In this sense, he warned that as long as Israel, “politically, financially and militarily supported” by Western countries, continues “its genocidal acts” in Gaza and other places, the region and the world will not experience any stability.

For his part, the Israeli Prime Minister has Benjamin Netanyahuhas re-emerged to ensure his state is prepared “for both defense and attack.”

“I know that the citizens of Israel are alert, and I ask you one thing: remain patient and calm. We are prepared for defense and attack,” he insisted.

In northern Israel, near Lebanon, the country has recommended staying close to shelters and avoiding crowds and unnecessary travel, given the possibility of an intensification of fire with Hezbollah.

On another front in the Middle East conflict, Israel’s defense minister Yoav Galantthe leader of Hezbollah has warned, Hassan Nasrallahthat Lebanon could pay an “extremely high price” for its attacks. “They cannot even imagine what could happen,” he added.

“This could also lead to war. It’s not a theory, it’s real,” Gallant said in a message to his military. Nasrallah previously vowed to respond “regardless of the consequences” to the Israeli strike that killed Hezbollah commander Fuad Shukr last week.
