Saturday night there was a major police operation in the city of Wels. An anonymous reporter sent a photo via email to the police station on Dragoon Street. It showed a person pointing a gun out of a window of an apartment building. The result was a major operation.
The frightening photo immediately caused widespread alarm. All available police patrols in Wels were called together, and the Rapid Intervention Group (SIG) and the Cobra task force were also alerted.
Cobra was in action
While the patrol officers blocked off the surrounding streets, the Cobra task force rushed to the affected building. Out of there, suddenly came four youngsters (a 15-year-old and three 16-year-olds). The group of teenagers was also immediately stopped by the special forces.
Shot on trash can
During the interrogation it turned out that the weapon was apparently a soft weapon, with which the youths claimed to have shot a garbage can on the driveway. The quartet is now being charged with disturbing the public order. The boys could also be charged with the operational costs.
