Nine people are believed to have died in a plane crash in Thailand, including two children (aged 12 and 13). “We are trying to find the missing people, but we think they are all dead,” the region’s governor said on Friday.
The search involved 300 soldiers and volunteers. Authorities said they had already found some body parts and parts of the plane. However, heavy rain is making the search more difficult. An investigation has now been launched to determine the cause of the crash.
Fallen in the jungle
The plane was reportedly en route from Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi airport to Trat province. The accident occurred in the Gulf of Thailand. The turboprop crashed in the jungle on Thursday (see video above).
There were two pilots and seven passengers on board. According to media reports, four people are from Thailand and five from China, including two children aged 12 and 13.
