Complaints about “unreliable mail delivery” in Wiener Neustadt seem to be increasing lately. At the postal headquarters in Vienna, they see things differently, but they also want to keep a close eye on it.
Problems on Wiener Strasse. A delivery person is said to have delivered the mail to a central office in a building – if it was open – instead of distributing it. Do the letters and shipments always reach the tenants? The property manager of the apartment building has given the post office a key to the entrance gate so that the delivery person can reach the mailboxes.
Mail ends up in other people’s homes
“The delivery person who was on duty that day explained when asked that his colleague had lost the key,” reports a citizen. And immediately continues: “It doesn’t work in Kurze Gasse either. If the mailboxes are overflowing, people simply refill them.” Even in single-family homes, mail from other recipients has to be reloaded again and again.
Many regular delivery people are on holiday
The postal headquarters says: “The delivery takes place from our new postal base in the Ecoplus Wirtschaftspark Wiener Neustadt. We also have different access options to different apartment buildings and we are not aware of a delivery person losing his only key.” However, it is true that a number of regular delivery people in Wiener Neustadt are enjoying their well-deserved vacation.
Therefore, they are represented by other colleagues who may not be familiar with all the special features of the respective districts around Wiener Straße. “We will follow up on these tips and strictly monitor the quality of the delivery,” it says.
