Germany’s Chancellor feels “anger” at Islamists after the attack that killed three people and has announced measures in the deportation policy of foreigners.
German Chancellor Olaf Scholz expressed his “anger” at Islamists during his visit to the German city of Solingen after the knife attack last Friday that left three people dead and eight injured.
Likewise, Scholz announced measures to reduce the risk of something similar happening again. Among the measures he highlighted the need to accelerate the deportation of foreigners who do not have the right to stay in Germany and to have better control over migration.
“This is terrorism, terrorism against all of us and against our way of life. It is something we cannot get used to and will never tolerate,” he said.
For his part, the Prime Minister of North Rhine-Westphalia, Hendrik Wüst, has stressed the need to speed up deportation processes and prevent certain types of people from entering Germany. He also said that it should be examined whether security organizations do not need more skills and more instruments to deal with terrorism.
Meanwhile, the terrorist organization Islamic State has claimed responsibility for the attack, saying in a statement that it was one of its soldiers who did so “Christians attacked to avenge the deaths of Muslims in Palestine and elsewhere.”
