The square in front of the BORG Oberpullendorf in Burgenland is often a popular meeting place for young people late at night. Now brutal scenes took place there, which according to witnesses brought back terrible memories of violent incidents that had caused excitement and heated political discussions in the Vienna-Favoriten hotspot this year. Armed with knives and brass knuckles, seven young people with a migrant background robbed a 14-year-old in the middle of the night.
The shocking incident is said to have taken place almost a week ago. In front of the federal high school, the seven young people between the ages of 15 and 18 ambushed a pupil from a border community in the district of Oberpullendorf. One attacker pulled a knife. Another perpetrator is said to have used a prohibited brass knuckle and threatened the victim with violence. The 14-year-old from Burgenland had his wallet taken away. The loot: 70 euros!
Three suspects arrested
The group of perpetrators disappeared into the darkness. The victim raised the alarm. The police were notified by emergency call. The main suspects were identified using photos. The 17-year-old knife boy from Lower Austria, the knuckle duster accomplice from the Eisenstadt area and a third suspect from the Mattersburg district – both 15 years old – were arrested. They were taken to the Eisenstadt prison last Friday.
