Spectacular traffic accident late Friday night in the Tyrolean lowlands: a 17-year-old Turk lost control of a BMW, which then left the road and crashed into a house wall with full force. Two of the four occupants were injured.
The accident took place around 10:45 p.m. in Jenbach in the Schwaz district. The young Turk, who lives in Tyrol, was driving the BMW at the train station towards Achenseestrasse when, according to the police, he suddenly lost control of the car in a right-hand bend.
The car went over the side of the road and collided head-on with the adjacent building. “The airbags deployed on impact. There were a total of four passengers in the car,” investigators said.
Driver and passenger injured
The 17-year-old probationary driver’s license holder suffered significant injuries. After initial treatment, he was taken by ambulance to the Schwaz district hospital. His passenger went to the hospital on his own. The people in the back seat apparently escaped with fright.
Due to the accident and the subsequent operation, the Jenbacher Bahnhofstrasse was closed to all traffic for 30 minutes.
