Tattooed literally from head to toe, a Viennese sits on the dock. Much of the permanent body painting has already been scratched – the National Socialist symbols. The 47-year-old has to answer for reactivation at the regional court of Vienna. “We all never want to experience such atrocities again,” the prosecutor recalled from dark times.

The suspect had distributed countless right-wing extremist messages, photos and videos on the internet. His apartment was overflowing with objects and symbols from the right-wing scene – he even wore socks with an SS print.

After a search by WEGA, however, he says he has turned his back on the environment. His lawyer Nikolaus Rast makes it clear: “Here’s a huge, thick line!” That’s why his client doesn’t want to comment anymore. Still, judge Nicole Baczak holds each charging point separately: “You have to go through it! I also had to read all the terrible news.”
The verdict: two years conditional and not final.
