According to a CNN poll, 63% of voters who watched the duel believe the Democrat did better. Trump, on the other hand, has declared himself the winner and is reluctant to hold a second debate.
The team of the Vice President of the United States, Kamala Harrishas claimed a second television debate with Republican Donald Trump, after the Democratic candidate emerged victorious from an initial confrontation in which she managed to put the tycoon and former White House tenant on the defensive.
In fact, polls show that the Democratic Party candidate has won the duel. This is evident from a short survey by CNN 63% of voters who watched the program consider Harris did bettercompared to 37% who lean toward Trump.
Before the debate, the same voters were evenly divided on which candidate would perform better. Among Democratic voters, enthusiasm is huge, with 96% considering their candidate the winner, while in the Republican field, 69% believe Trump has won, the same survey found.
“It was fun. Let’s do it again,” Harris’s adviser Brian Fallon asked on social media.
The vice president’s campaign team has said there are two candidates October together again. “Vice President Harris is ready for a second debate. Is Trump,” said ABC News, organizer of the first and so far only televised duel.
trumpwho had publicly challenged Harris to hold three debates has now indicated that Democrats want another debate “because they lost,” in an unusual statement to journalists accredited to cover Tuesday’s rally in Philadelphia.
The former president, however, has become more reserved in a later Fox News interview: “Maybe we shouldn’t do it.” In that sense, he declared himself the winner of the event and questioned the Democrats’ haste in calling for a new debate: “If you lose, you want immediate revenge.”
Several networks had offered to host another face-to-face meeting between Trump and Harris, but for now the only confirmed date is the debate between their two running mates. The vice presidential candidates are scheduled to meet on October 1.
