Terrible accident on Friday afternoon on the Inntal Autobahn in Langkampfen (Kufstein district). A 33-year-old local man crashed his car into a car that was driving in front of him. The driver’s vehicle was thrown against the crash barrier and lifted out. The driver had to be resuscitated on the spot. A child (2) was also seriously injured.
At around 16:25 on Friday, horrible scenes took place on the Inntal motorway in the direction of travel. There, the 33-year-old collided with the car driven in front of him by a 65-year-old resident. The collision caused the 33-year-old’s car to skid.
The force caused the car to hit the guardrail and lift off. It came to a stop between tree trunks on an embankment. In addition to the driver, a 28-year-old passenger and a two-year-old child were also in the vehicle.
Woman trapped, driver resuscitated
The woman was trapped in the vehicle and had to be freed by the Kufstein volunteer fire brigade. Pursuing road users rescued the man and the child. As a result of the serious accident, she sustained significant injuries and was taken to the Kufstein district hospital.
The 33-year-old had to be resuscitated at the scene of the accident and then taken to hospital with serious injuries. The woman also suffered serious injuries.
Second driver unharmed, long suspension
The 65-year-old driver was able to stop his vehicle on the hard shoulder. Fortunately, he was unharmed. The accident closed the A12 for about an hour and a half.
