He Parliament of Venezuela on Tuesday introduced a motion for a resolution urging that country’s government to do so “Evaluate” the breakup of diplomatic and commercial relations with Spain, in response to the decision of the Spanish Congress to recognize opponent Edmundo González Urrutia as president-elect.
The document, read by Deputy Roy Daza, asks the Venezuelan executive to “evaluate at an urgent moment the severance of diplomatic and commercial relations with the Kingdom of Spain as a reciprocal action for the rude and meddlesome proposal adopted by the Congress of Deputies of” Spain against Venezuelan institutions.”
In the same way he rejects “the rude and meddlesome decision“adopted by the government of Spain, which “intends to ignore the democratic institutions of the country and the sovereign will of an entire people who legitimately elected Nicolás Maduro Moros as re-elected President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.
The text also assures that “in recent years the Spanish far right has protected itself fascist criminals and terrorists convicted and confessed” who, together with the Venezuelan right, “promoted failed coups in the country, as well as the explosion of violence to cause destabilization”, including “the fascist actions of July 29, 30 and 31”.
The Spanish Congress, with the positive vote of PP, Vox, UPN, CC and PNV, last week approved a non-bill from the popular parties, urging the government to recognize González, a refugee in Spain since Sunday, as president-elected after the presidential elections on July 28 in Venezuela.
