An unknown bidder offers $19 million for a lunch with legendary American investor Warren Buffett. The donation auction on the online portal eBay started last Sunday with a starting price of USD 25,000 (almost 24,000 euros). There were offers until Friday. The highest bid: $19 million.
The anonymous winner will be allowed to bring up to seven guests to lunch with the billionaire at a steakhouse in New York for $19,000,100.
Lunch canceled twice due to Corona
Buffett has been auctioning a meal there every year since 1999. He donates the proceeds to the homeless in San Francisco, California. Due to the corona pandemic, the expensive lunch with the investor legend was canceled twice. This year should be the last event of its kind with the 91-year-old.
In previous years, the campaign had allowed him to meet “interesting people from all over the world,” Buffett said, according to an eBay statement. “What they have in common is that they think the money is well spent.”
