Shining children’s eyes, surprised faces: that’s actually what a fire breather causes in the audience. Not so with a fire show at a campsite in Mittewald near Villach – because an accident happened on Sunday evening.
The 48-year-old fire breather was putting on his show at the Draustadt campsite when suddenly everything went wrong! Around midnight, the man’s outer clothing suddenly caught fire.
The fire breather suffered severe burns to his face, chest and right hand. Guests present immediately came to the aid of the seriously injured man and cared for him until the rescue team arrived. The emergency services have delivered the man to the LKH Villach, where he is now being treated.
