They criticized the fact that the Minister of Education, Carlos Gimeno, declared a Sectoral Table “without any content” and “with two days left” for the strike, when it had already been going on for “months”.
“We were called to convey our demands (…) The first surprise was that the department claims not to know the teachers’ requests, while we have repeatedly conveyed them to them (…) We have asked if they are willing to finance the measures that meet the needs of the Navarrese public education system, such as the reduction of ratios, staff stability, teacher overload and the recovery of purchasing power, among others”, they stressed.
The meeting was convened by the Government of Navarre in response to the call of a unitary general strikefor the first time since 2012, this Thursday in public education in the Foral Community September 26th.
