Burning tires – Berlin: riots after Palestinian demonstrations

Burning tires, barricades on the streets, throwing bottles at police officers: wild scenes took place in Berlin on the evening of the October 7 commemoration. There had previously been riots at a pro-Palestinian rally.

The police initially could not say whether the riots were related to the pro-Palestinian demonstration. The situation was quickly under control. However, 14 emergency services were injured.

At the demonstration in Berlin-Kreuzberg early Monday evening, participants threw bottles at police officers and chanted anti-Israel slogans. Several arrests also took place here, the police announced on X.

According to police, around 400 people took part in the demonstration marking the first anniversary of the attack on Israel by the Islamist terrorist organization Hamas. Swedish activist Greta Thunberg was also at the demonstration.
